UCD Spatial Biology Grant
Gain a new perspective on your tissue samples
About the Grant Program
Akoya Biosciences is pleased to sponsor this grant program with UCD to support researchers in spatial phenotyping diverse cellular landscapes.
Goal: Using the PhenoImager™ HT instrument, the Research Pathology Core Facility at the UCD Conway Institute, in association with the National Spatial Tissue Profiling Platform (NaSPro), Precision Oncology Ireland (POI) and the All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI), is offering a multispectral imaging service to enable the identification and linear unmixing of spectrally overlapping biomarkers. Spectrally unmixed, whole slide tissue images can be generated at 40x in 6-8 plex colours (plus DAPI) with autofluorescence removal. This enables researchers to study a greater number of cell phenotypes at once, and to explore how they interact in situ to impact disease pathology, beyond the limitations of conventional IHC and IF.
Award: Two 1500 Euro grants will be awarded to the winning project submissions towards a spatial profiling project with the Research Pathology Core Facility at the UCD Conway Institute. One grant will be awarded to a researcher at UCD and the second will be selected from another research institute in the island of Ireland. The grant awards will support the purchase of assay reagents from Akoya Biosciences for the project and technical support will also be provided to the winning submission by a reagent specialist from Akoya Biosciences to optimize Opal dye panel development. To apply, complete the registration form and provide a short abstract describing how multispectral imaging can support your research.
Eligibility: Applications are open to researchers from research institutes in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland only. Applications will close on October 14th 2022.
The grant program is subject to the Akoya and UCD Spatial Biology Grant Program Terms and Conditions which contain eligibility restrictions. Void where prohibited.
