Digging into the soil of breast cancer

Webinar | Thursday, May 23, 2024

Cancer initiates and develops through a complex and intricate sequence of biological events, including cellular metabolic reprogramming, response to host immune activities, and the occurrence of specific DNA mutations. All these events have a profound effect on the tumour microenvironment cellular composition and function. It is critical to untangle the complexity of the tumour microenvironment and identify actionable biomarkers. In this webinar, Dr. Chiara Gorrini, Associate Professor, University of Leeds, UK will describe her research focus on a very aggressive form of breast cancer, namely the Triple Negative subtype, which occurs at a young age with poor prognosis. She will describe how the PhenoCycler-Fusion has been used to generate signatures of cell markers for tumour microenvironment analysis as well as to conduct protein-barcoded functional screens.

Learning Objectives:

  • Using spatial imaging to characterize the tumour microenvironment.
  • Generation of custom conjugated antibodies for spatial imaging applications
  • Integration of spatial imaging with mouse models and functional screen
